Preliminary Selection
- Two virtuoso etudes from the program of Round 1:
- One virtuoso etude (according to choice) by F. Chopin or F. Liszt
- One virtuoso etude (according to choice) by S. Rachmaninoff, A. Skriabin, C. Debussy, I. Stravinsky or S. Prokofiev.
Round 1
(30-45 minutes)
- Any polyphonic composition (according to the choice of participant);
J.S.Bach A piano work (original):
- A prelude and a fugue from WTC,
- A toccata,
- An English suite,
- A partita,
- Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue
D.Shostakovich A prelude and a fugue from «24 Preludes and Fugues for Piano»
- A sonata by J. Haydn, W. Mozart, L. Beethoven (except for op. 49 No. 1, 2, op. 79, op. 106) — completely.
- One virtuoso etude (according to choice) by F. Chopin or F. Liszt
- One virtuoso etude (according to choice) by S. Rachmaninoff, A. Skriabin, C. Debussy, I. Stravinsky or S. Prokofiev.
- Virtuoso composition by the modern author of the country of the participant
Note: With the consent of the Competition's Directorate, the jury may listen to a sonata (round I, p. 2) partially.
